Welcome to the ‘Becoming a Reel Gardening Volunteer’ Course on Hours 2 Impact!

Here are a few things you need to know before you get started…

This course has been divided into 2 sections. Section A deals with the specifics of volunteering including working with people and managing a team, while Section B will delve into the theory and practice of vegetable gardening.

The course consists of 8 videos, a downloadable Training Manual and a downloadable copy of the Reel Easy Guide to Growing. The Training Manual aligns with Section A of the course and will provide you with additional information on working with people. The Reel Easy Guide to Growing aligns with Section B and contains information on gardening theory and practice.

You will need to consult all of these materials in order to learn everything you need to know to pass the final test and complete the course.

Each section has been coloured coded across the Training Manual and the Lectures, for easy navigation.

Attached to this section you will find the Training Manual and the Reel Easy Guide to Growing. Download both of these documents and familiarise yourself with them before you start watching the videos. This will help you follow the content in the videos and workbooks simultaneously.

Attached to this section you will also find 4 downloadable checklists. These checklists should be downloaded, printed and taken with you to each garden visit. The videos and Training Manual will explain each of these checklists in more depth.

It is advised that you DOWNLOAD the materials to your device BEFORE printing them to ensure the best quality. Do not print straight from your web browser.

After each lecture you will be able to complete a short, multiple choice quiz. The quizzes are not compulsory but will help prepare you for the final test. You will be able to check your answers as you go.

Attached to each lecture you will find a ‘Quiz Answers’ document. This document will give you the justification for each quiz answer. If you have gotten some of the quiz questions wrong and you don’t know why, consult this document for clarity.

IMPORTANT! Once you have watched the video and completed the quiz for each lecture click the ‘Complete’ button at the bottom of the lecture. If you do not press ‘Complete’, the course will not register that you have completed this lecture.
