Managing Expectations

Managing Expectations means being very clear about exactly what you can offer, what you expect in return and what you envision the project will ultimately look like.

You’ll need to communicate this vision very clearly, but also listen to what your partners vision is. Together you must align your visions to create one clearly understood, mutual goal.

To help you discuss your ideas about all aspects of the project we have created the Managing Expectations Checklist. Print this out and take it with you to your next meeting with your beneficiary partner.

Reel Gardening has worked with various beneficiary partners all over South Africa to design and implement over 500 school and community garden projects. During this time they have learnt a few tips and tricks to make the logistical elements of any project run smoothly. Find these suggestions in this video and page 6 of the Training Manual.
